How do I improve the matches for my child?
Matching quality comes down to two things: the reference photos we match against, and the feedback you give on results.
1. Give us great reference photos. Open your child's page (click their name in the sidebar, then the Photos tab). The best reference photos show only your child, with a clear front-facing view, good lighting, no sunglasses or hats, and the face filling a good part of the frame. A few different photos from different angles work best. Group shots, blurry photos, and tiny thumbnails hurt more than they help.
2. Keep them current. Kids change fast. If your child's photos are from a previous summer, update them with a few recent ones. You may see a banner on your dashboard reminding you when it's time.
3. Review your Maybes. On your dashboard, filter to Maybes to see photos we think might be your child but aren't sure about. Tap the green check ("Yes, that's them") or the red X ("Not them") on each one. Every answer teaches the matcher: a confirmation or rejection applies to that photo everywhere, and helps us match your child more accurately going forward.
For the best results, a reference photo should be:
• Only your child in the photo — no one else anywhere in the picture (most important).
• A clear, front-facing view of the face, looking straight at the camera.
• A natural expression — no exaggerated poses (for example, no "duck face").
• Close up, with the face filling a good part of the photo.
• In focus and well lit — not blurry, dark, or heavily shadowed.
• No sunglasses, hats, or anything covering the face.
• If your child wears glasses, choose a photo without heavy glare on the lenses.
• A large, high-resolution photo. Small, thumbnail-size images won't work.
• A recent photo that looks like them now.
Can I get an email for each new photo instead of a digest?
Yes. By default we group new photos into one digest email, but you can change the format in Settings under Match email format:
- Small Photo Digest: new photos grouped into one email as small thumbnails (the default).
- Large Photo digest: one grouped email with each photo at full size.
- A separate email per photo: each new photo arrives as its own email, up to four a day, with the rest folded into a summary. This is a premium option.
- Every match, with high-res download: one email per match with no cap, plus a high-resolution download link. Also a premium option.
Pick whichever fits your inbox. You can switch formats at any time.
How do I invite family to see photos and help manage my account?
Go to Settings, open the Family section, and click Add someone to this family. Enter their email and name, choose the relationship (spouse, co-parent, grandparent, or other family), and pick a role:
- Viewer: they see all of the family's photos and can get emails when new ones match. They can't change anything.
- Admin: everything a viewer gets, plus they can add and edit children, invite or remove family members, and manage settings.
They'll receive an email to confirm and join. You can remove someone at any time from the same Family section, and their access ends immediately.
I found a photo of my child that wasn't matched. Can I tag it?
Yes. Matching is very good, but no matcher is perfect, and you can fix misses yourself.
Open the photo from a camp drop and click Tag a face. Faces we detected show as dashed boxes: tap the box over your child and pick their name. If we didn't detect the face at all, just tap where they are in the photo and pick their name. The tag counts as a confirmed match, so the photo joins your child's collection and the matcher learns from it.
Recognized someone else's child? In the same menu, choose Someone else's child? and enter their parent's email with an optional note. We'll let that family know a photo of their child was spotted. This option is available to parents the camp knows, meaning families on its roster or with a child enrolled there.
My camp isn't listed. How do I get them on PhotoEnroll?
Type your camp's name anyway. The picker suggests camps as you type, and if yours isn't there, we'll record the name you enter and attach it to your child's enrollment, so you're ready the moment they join.
Then help us bring them on board: on that enrollment you'll see a Get their photos button. It opens a short, pre-written note to your camp director that you send from your own email (a word from a parent goes much further than a sales pitch from us). We're CC'd, so we can help the camp get set up and let you know when your photos start arriving.
You can also point your camp directly at photoenroll.com/get-started, where they can set themselves up in a few minutes.
Can I share an account with other family members?
Yes, you can connect your account to your other people’s. The account owner should click on Manage Family (sidebar navigation) > Invite Family.
Enter your email, choose your relationship (eg. Grandparent), and pick a role (Admin will let you manage the account together, or Viewer if you just want to see the photos and get emails).
The invitee will get a confirmation email with a link to accept their invitation to join.
